Hong Kong, Singapore top list of most expensive rents globally

The average monthly rent for a 3-bed property in Hong Kong costs US$3,836.

A recent research by money.co.uk reveals the average cost of rent for three-bed properties in over 50 countries globally.

Three countries from Asia Pacific made it to the list of top 10 most expensive places to rent a three-bed property.

Hong Kong topped the list with monthly rents costing US$3,836. This is attributed to Hong Kong’s dense population with 7.5 million people living in just 1,110 square kilometres of space.

Singapore clinched the second spot, with average monthly rents amounting to US$3,131.

Meanwhile, Australia placed ninth on the list, with rents costing US$1,775.00.
